DAY 11 of 12
Capstone prep
Pick your capstone's shape — web, game, or app — and scope it to ship
You can do… by end of day
- Explain the game loop (state + rules + a 60 fps tick) and build a tiny pygame game.
- Compare native vs React Native/Flutter and scope a mobile target.
- Write a realistic capstone plan: product, data model, endpoints, and a demo day.
Deliverable
A scoped, one-page capstone plan + a working prototype (game loop or app skeleton).
Big-picture hook
Tomorrow is the stage. This was the last rehearsal.
Concepts what you'll understand
- Game dev, in a day: state + rules + a 60 fps loop — from a 16-line pygame game to the shape of Unity/Godot/Unreal.
- Mobile: installed, not visited — native vs React Native/Flutter, one codebase to both stores.
- Capstone scoping: a product you can actually finish — a data model, a handful of endpoints, a frontend, and a story for demo day.
The lab hands-on, ends with something live
- Game loop: build a minimal pygame game (a ball, a score, a loop) — feel the tick.
- Mobile manifest: scope a mobile target and lay out the screens.
- Capstone plan: write the one-page plan: what you're building, the data model, the endpoints, and how you'll demo it.
